UNTEREISENBACH: Two local farmers, Jakob and Peter Dimmer, father and son, drove over a landmine on their way to work. The landmine exploded, killing them both instantly. (April 18, 1945) Many friends and acquaintances from the village and the surrounding area attended the funeral. Father Dimmer was the long-serving president of the dairy cooperative and a member of the church council. Peter Dimmer, who, like many other young people, had lived in the forest bunker last summer, was universally well-liked. May their memory be honored!
