TAWERN: Serious accident. On Monday afternoon, a serious accident occurred on the German side of the Moselle River. Near Tawern, opposite Grevenmacher, a mine exploded in an open field while a group of 25-30 Luxembourgish soldiers were conducting exercises. One non-commissioned officer was killed, and several soldiers sustained minor injuries. None of the injured are in life-threatening condition. After immediate application of emergency bandages, all were released.
