25.06.1945 – Beiler

Todesursache: Tellermine 42

WEISWAMPACH: The detonations of German munitions are still shaking our region. Unfortunately, some windows were shattered again because people forgot to open them. Sadly, some lives have even been lost due to carelessness. During the last detonation between Weiswampach and Beiler, a grenade exploded. Three men from the bomb disposal squad were killed instantly. A seriously wounded man died on the way to the hospital. Henri Weiles, a militiaman from Weiswampach who was supervising the column, was also injured. He was taken to a clinic in Luxembourg, where several pieces of shrapnel were removed. After just eight days of treatment, he was able to leave the hospital and return to work.
